Readings by Nat Marcus, Zoe Darsee, Yves B. Golden, and Gloria Lin – invited by John Holten.

The poetics of TABLOID Press are environmental; their ecology is social. Conceived in Berlin in 2014 by Zoe Darsee and Nat Marcus, the project was initially a poetic gossip column – the effect of its lyrics were intended not only for the reader in private, silent engagement, but for the whole interpersonal terrain in which the authors were dancing and about which they wrote.

In the following years, TABLOID has released over 10 publications, its activities widening to include hosting poetry workshops, designing books and clothing, and providing textual documentation for live performance. All the same, its focus has still been on the environment – textual, visual, sonic and social.

Darsee and Marcus will read at Tropez alongside friends and collaborators Yves B. Golden and Gloria Lin. Taking place in the particular environment of a small lawn in the Sommerbad Humboldthain – lush with sonic interference, chlorinated and under the open sun – the reading will be formatted to leisure and polyphony.

Yves B. Golden is an interdisciplinary artist working between sculpture, poetry/prose, and performance. Golden is inspired by the sacred bond that can exist between memory and physical objects, using ancestral technologies to accentuate this tethering. Working from the center of their dominant mediums—poetry, prose and performance (P3)— their practice ponders the separation between 'nature' and 'grace' - measuring the predictable force that propels them back and forth. Golden's recent exhibitions include Springsteen Gallery Baltimore, Berlin Project Space Festival, and Raw Material Company, Dakar Senegal.

Gloria Lin is a poet and filmmaker based between Berlin, London and Taiwan
